Can happen especially on sunny days
Best to switch on the Wahoo well before setting off
Its one thing where Garmins seem better although that is quickly offset by their failings IMO
My 530 yesterday kept on going to a blank screen but still on when I tried to switch it off.

Done mine. Took several goes and an extra complication was it lost the Wi-Fi. I rebooted the router and installed from the Bolt. Looks ok now. I also got a message about turning the Bluetooth off and on again.

Dear Pete,

We continue to apply all resources to resolve the GPS time issue for all first generation ELEMNT computers. We have now released the fix for BOLT 1 and ROAM 1 computers via firmware update that should resolve the issue going forward* for those models. A firmware update for original ELEMNT computers is currently in development.

The updated firmware versions for ROAM 1 and BOLT 1 are as follows:

ROAM 1 – WR24 - 17055
BOLT 1 – WB17 - 17055

To receive the fix for future rides*, please ensure that your computer is connected to a viable Wi-Fi network and complete a standard firmware update. For more detail on these processes and basic troubleshooting, please review the articles below
* The firmware update will not change or recover any rides completed between August 17 and when it is updated. For information on recovering or changing ride dates, see Retrieve / change ride files from ELEMNT, BOLT 1, or ROAM 1 from August 2025

Sincerely,

The Wahoo Team

My Element Bolt V1 was works just fine again. But the auto pause still seems to be unreliable or not working at all. Prior to the gps week rollover problems it was working fine. Anyone else has this?

My Bolt also worked fine, didn't notice the auto pause though, I wouldn't normally notice this but I will try to keep an eye on it later.

I've not tried post update but previously the autopause was a bit intermittent in that sometimes I'd stop and it would almost immediately autopause. Other times it wouldn't. This was fairly commonplace on my rides.
Anyway, I plan on a spin later so I'll check.

Dogtrousers

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Sounds like they handled it pretty well, so kudos to Wahoo for that.

I mean, they get no kudos for being taken by surprise by the problem. They should have pre-empted it. But stuff happens, and apart from that I think they seem to have done well.

My elemnt bolt v1 seems much slower to acquire satellites after the upgrade. It eventually works but previously it had been up and running when I left the garage, now I’m past Spar and through the industrial estate. It is also less stable in holding a speed under trees. For my use on the commute it’s not important as I only use this unit to drive the rear radar but I wonder if anyone else is having this problem?

Mine is a Roam v1, rather than Bolt, but I have had a coupe of times when it has been slow to acquire the satellites. But I always did have odd occasions when it would have that issue.

I have had that with my Bolt 2 slow to pick up at the start of the ride and then going mental under trees. I got my unit changed and it was just the same so they suggested a speed sensor. So I got one and things work ok, however sometimes it doesn’t always up load to my phone when I finished my ride.
we have similar problems in the car which we have to ask google to turn this on or turn this off.
First world problems.
But irritating as shoot.

Can be climatic conditions although we are generally beyond clear sunny days which my Bolt 1 always struggled to lock on.
