We've just replaced my daughters walking boots, they've had a bit of use, but not much, she's simply outgrown them but they're certainly not A1 condition.
They're Unisex, and I'm not sure of the size, I think 4 but I'll have to check tomorrow (and to make sure they haven't been given away yet) but, sound any good?
They're the Decathlon forclaz ones

I have a pair of very ancient boots size 10 (I think - may be 11) so above your size range but who knows? Surely some 14-year-old lads out there will have bigger feet than what you said? The soles are worn and hardened so that the boots no longer grip in snow or ice, however they should be OK in grassy/rocky areas. Will happily donate, PM if interested.

Yep, I've got some rugged trainer type canvas walking boots, size 42, muddy but hardly used. PM me if interested.

I know you want to get them for as little outlay as possible, but have you got your leaders warrant.
Millets used to allow 15% purchases upon production of that bit of card. Not certan what the situation is since Blacks took over.

Get on decent pair & pass them to the one you feel would take best care of them. Even charging a small(nominal) fee. Helps them look after them

Its not cheap being a leader, I know. But if you can convince one parent to contribute towards the cost, overs may follow

Are you suggesting I buy a new, decent pair of walking boots, then give them to a Scout
[/quote]
Well that's all right then. The ones I'm offering are definitely not 'decent'....

Will get them in the post in the next week or so. Now what's the cheapest option....?

I'm only suggesting something that I've done in the past. You keep the boots, but they are loaned out for a nominal amount, to one of the more reliable scouts. It kind of makes the others want something similar.

I take it you don't have your leaders warrant then. Have a word with the manager of your local Millets & see what sort of deal they can give you.

Does anyone have a clue how much it would cost to post boots to Maggot?

My son was a scout (as was his dad & his grandma was district commissioner!) and has a pair of old boots knocking about.

Are we the right place?

Try one of the walking forums... or the local ramblers.

The other thing is a local ad and / or press story - We did a local plea for tents after ours were stolen,( and I must admit we played on it a little,) but the local response was fantastic - we had a whole range of tents provided.

Best of luck & sorry I have non of the sizes required. Only boots I have now are my own.
My stock of walking equipment,(boots, waterproofs & compasses) was split between three other groups. I know what you mean when you say you don't want to be out of pocket as well. Your time is given freely, I did the same for 16 years.

the other reason is that I hope you know me well enough on here now, and that I am not just some chancer pitching up and seeing if I can bag some free boots,

Sorry if I implied that you were, it certainly wasn't meant if I did

Apologies Maggot, the walking boots have already been donated to a neighbour.
I'll drop you a line when she outgrows her new pair (won't be long at this rate  )
