Keen, Teva and Oboz are all good.

I cannot, however, agree with you re Salomon.

We have 3 pairs currently on the go in our house (1 pair Mrs SD and 2 pairs me) and they have been hammered on long day treks in our local (Cumbrian) mountains including a lot of high-grade rock scambling.

They are still going strong - their predecessors (cannot remember how many pairs) were similarly durable.

Are you sure they were not knock-offs?

My crappy Salomon's were bought from the Salomon shop so not knock offs but just not up to the rigours of dog walking.

Hard ground / pavement and distances just get a pair of trainers with cushioning. You don’t need walking shoes for your requirements

I wonder why they chose Sole of Air as their name and not, say, Air Sole?

Just one of those little mysteries.
