I thought the last Wallander series was terrific and the new one is shaping up to be pretty good.The bleached scenery is very clever camera work I reckon and resonates with the isolation and distance they have between towns. As far as the misery goes wouldn't you be a bit miserable if the sun didn't go down for six months ?
Also saw the original recently. These foreign programmes where they pretend they can't speak English is an insult to my intelligence !

I find that the long daylight is energising. It's the long dark bits that would drive me suicidal (and many folks in that part of the world by all accounts).

As for the series - it's new to me and I'm finding my way a bit. But I think it's well done and will tune in again next week.

I lived in Southern Sweden and watch Wallander for the scenery and atmosphere as much as the plot. The original Swedish version IS better, but Ken's versions is very pleasant sunday night fare. S. Sweden in the summer is beautiful cycling country.

That'll be the UV bits of sunlight in the lower latitude parts of the world. Not quite such a problem usually up north.

But - yes too much exposed skin can be a problem.
