LOL because of some of the goings on in my immediate family over the last year we watch TV Wallander to bouy ourselves up! (the books are grimmer imo btw; e.g. the stuff with his Dad far worse)

I thought Branagh's performance in the episode shown last night was just waaaay over the top - particularly at the end.

The really clever thing about the Swedish version is that you have to peer in to the gloom to see the actor - and when you do the subtlety behind that 'everyday' face is a great reward.
