That's almost half a lifetime ago. But damn, I remember it well. We (England) were tactically naive, and got taught a proper lesson.

Here for rides.
The most memorable for me was the Grand Slam decider in 1990. Scotland v. England at Murrayfield, and as per usual the English based media had everyone (apart from the Scots) believe that it was just a case of England having to turn up at Murrayfield to collect the Grand Slam title. I was there with 2 of my brothers, and we took umbrage with some dodgy types who were selling T-shirts from the back of vans with the text on the shirt being "England Grand Slam Winners 1990". These were on sale BEFORE the game! I hope they sold plenty of their shirts before the game, because they certainly weren't in great demand AFTER the game . What a great day that was .
Please don't remind me. iirc they sang Flower of Scotland, and I turned to my friends and said "They think they are going to win this."

Sorry, Mr B..
After an initial shaky start, they took control before the red card and apart from that blip just after halftime, they just were running the Ozzies off their feet, the quick handling, the ball across the line was sublime, scrum needs to be beefed up a bit but willing suffer that weakness if free-flowing rugby is to continue[/QUOTE]

You can probably see the back of my head somewhere in that second shot. Great pictures!

Mercifully there was barely any scrum action, not that I think ours is weak it's just become so ridiculously over reffed that it often ruins games.
