Yeah, but we've seen it, groped it and decided it's not worth buying. Do you think only the Emperor should have been allowed to comment on his new clothes?

FWIW I'm not anti-Rapha. Their cafes seem OK but a little expensive and really not set up for being busy. The Brewer Street one had no good bike parking nearby when I was there, so I've tended to go to LMNH instead if I want an inner London cafe stop.

It's going to be fun now asking anyone wearing Rapha clothing "Didn't the Walmart heirs buy Rapha?" isn't it?
You do know that Walmart heir is not the same as Walmart?

You sound like unlikable characters from Pride and Prejudice "They were of a respectable family in the north of England; a circumstance more deeply impressed on their memories than that their brother’s fortune and their own had been acquired by trade."

I have 3 Rapha Tops 2 of them (Merino/Polyester mix) are the best jerseys I have owned for comfort and wear, the other is a Core jersey (Polyester/Elastine) its OK but no better than some Aldi tops I have, but I do like the understated designs, I didn't pay full price for any of them, I wouldn't have bought them at full price.

What absolute nonsense! This is nothing to do with 'trade' but the fact that Rapha is over-hyped kit that no-one with any sense would pay full price for.

So the only people who buy it full price are thick/daft numpties, damn how do they even get the money together.

Well I'm sorry to say this, or write it but I've long been a supporter of dhb stuff from Wiggle for the excellent value for money. However over the years I've begun to find that it doesn't last; the fabrics pill and wear quite fast and the reds fade and the shorts pads lose their sponginess, the covering becomes harsh and they begin to give me saddle sores. I've just bought a pair of Lusso shorts made with Italian fabrics and pad and I have to say that the quality is outstanding; I'll report back in three years on their durability compared with the cheaper dhb stuff made with Chinese fabrics and pads..

They inherit it. Maybe this purchase is more apt than I first thought

Yeah, I know that, but I suspect the difference is too subtle for some wearers of prominent labels.

I've never had me claws on any Rapha but I find a lot of cycling kit is overpriced for what you get but some stuff is finished nicer than others and is more practical in terms of pockets and zips. If people like Rapha, fair enough, they don't make any pretensions about who they are aiming to sell too though, they're fairly upfront about positioning themselves as a brand to aspire too. They also seem to be a bit of a touchstone of cycling popularity given how they've been financed and who now owns them.

I was talking about the people who feel the brand is diminished by having been purchased by Walmart heirs, as if their money has been tainted by association with the store.

I'm not sure how the "all" got into my post. Edited to fix.
