Not sure which way to read that.

You mean the same people who create jobs. Do away with all the stuff we buy but do not need and there will be a lot less jobs.
Maybe because companies like Rapha outsource to China where it's cheaper.

And because essential jobs are undervalued in this country. Partly because people want to be rich and famous, and afford branded products.
China needs jobs as well. Rapha I think employ about 100 people in the UK maybe more now.

A pot of their chamois creme, made of yak sweat personally harvested by the Dalai Lama...
I'm pleased to hear that,I'm just about to try it.
Actually it seems to be priced around the same level as my usual bum cream, and with two shops selling cream in Carlisle, I've only two options!

Would you admit to having a rather patronising view of the intelligence of the cyclist purchasing public, by assuming they've been duped?
people such as @jayonabike ?

But you're clearly smart enough not to have been suckered by this brand, whereas Rocky and jay have?

So does Mrs R

Seriously though, I buy Rapha because I find it more comfortable and better designed than Gore or Assos - two brands that I have used previously. It also seems to be quite hard wearing - I'm still wearing the same Classic bibshorts I bought three years ago with no sign of wear.......so it works for me.
Nope, Rocky, it's because you've been mugged by 'businesspeople' who make their fortune out of creating an empty brand and convincing people they need to own it. :okay:

I don't think so. Expensive stuff is expensive and cheap is cheap for a reason. Let me remind you of what I wrote on page 2 of this thread:

"....I've long been a supporter of dhb stuff from Wiggle for the excellent value for money. However over the years I've begun to find that it doesn't last; the fabrics pill and wear quite fast and the reds fade and the shorts pads lose their sponginess, the covering becomes harsh and they begin to give me saddle sores. I've just bought a pair of Lusso shorts made with Italian fabrics and pad and I have to say that the quality is outstanding..."

dhb stuff is made with Chinese fabrics and pads while Lusso is manufactured from scratch (not just finished) from Italian fabrics and pads about 100 yards from where I'm typing this in Greater Manchester. After writing that above I remembered that I'd bought a pair of Lusso bib tights when I started mountain biking and they survived at least ten years of abuse, repeated washing and repairs to damage caused in falls. I've just replaced them with another pair from Lusso and the quality is also excellent so I expect to get another 10 years of use from them. Lusso isn't as expensive as Rapha but I'm sure the quality is just as good, just the look is less fashionable.
