Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
It would be a bit like having a vintage car that you only take out every once in a while for me. The other ones look lovely as well. If they are the type of bike you like, then each to their own but they seem a bit pricey and not entirely practical.
Stick a sturdy rack and dynamo lighting on it and it seems quite practical to me. My Dutch bike is my most practical bike. The English roadster and road bike racks don't carry so much, the folding bike can only take a rack-top bag else it heel strikes and the hybrid is just more complicated to ride than all the others.

I don't really understand why Pashleys are so much heavier than other brands, though.

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...
I cannot think of anything I want that I cannot have, either that makes me a wealthy person or a sad one, I have a strong feeling it is the latter.
I was going to say that you must be satisfied with your lot, but I think content is a better word for it. I am with you on this, I have no great desire for more material goods. I enjoy my job but really would just enjoy more time to spend with my family......

It`s nice to dream a bit, like about that De Rosa frame Chain Reaction were selling half price during that Black Friday malarkey,
or that Columbus stainless steel job Chas Roberts was selling a couple of years ago (both frames about the £ 1500 mark) but as I keep having to tell myself
"I just don`t need it!" I have carbon. steel ,alloy and scandium alloy, so apart fro Ti. and bamboo I have pretty much the full set, though the harm all this self denial is causing could manifest it`s self in a really big wallet hammering. Custom titanium with transparent aubergine lacquer,ENVE forks that sort of thing,,,,
I must remember to keep clicking my heels together and repeating "I just don`t need it. I just don`t need it"

I was in the Chas Roberts website yesterday and it looks like they are taking a break and trying to sell off their stock.
The D.O.G.S.B.O.L.X frame is unfortunately too big for me.

Bet you never see one out on the road though . Not like all those unique and individual bikes we see loads of from bespoke makers :giggle:

Well it's a Tri bike - doesn't meet UCI regs for fairings. And, who the hell puts discs on a TT bike - you aren't meant to be braking hard, unless you are a triathlete with dodgy bike skills. That's worse than the Dogmas !!

My son and I went to the Cyclist magazine track day at the Olympic road circuit and rode a bunch of top race bikes. I fell in love with one and bought it for myself as a 60th birthday present. Some blokes buy sports cars, some buy motorbikes or yachts or stereos. I bought a superb race bike, which is an absolute joy to ride and makes me feel 16 again. It's a great investment because it will keep me fit and healthy for years to come.

That's enough justification for me.

That's your opinion but you cant get away from the fact that it is top of the range with everything top of the range and i bet every frame has been hand made . I'd be interested to see the build vid of this bike . I know Giant showed a factory vid a few years ago .
