Friend of mine mysteriously received a tie made of wood one valentines. Said to the only (or most likely) donor 'but you wouldn't give me anything like that.' 'Wooden tie?' she responded
I'm inclined to send a pair of hubs to Wheel Fanatyk and have them build them even though the rims come from Italia. I'm building a www.ratrodbikes.com using an old Armstrong frame, a Vintage Bendix two speed kick-back hub and a 30s front drum and was considering the 26" cruiser rims but the blog has convinced me that tubs are the way to go. I couldn't bring myself to fit a rim brake!
I had a pair of Ghissallo rims on a fixed wheel bike. My only regret was selling them when I decided I didn't use them enough. They were georgeous to ride on with good tubs, like floating on air.
