Has anybody discovered a pair of overshoes that actually keep your feet warm & stop water ingress ??
I have waterproof ones (allegedly !!) that don't keep your feet dry or warm, and also neoprene that does help with warmth, but doesn't stop the rain soaking in.

Sealskinz.

Given up on Sealskinz. Once the water gets through the leg hole, that's it you're in wet socks for the rest of the day.

I found some Planet X overshoes in my spares box that I currently seem to be getting on ok with. They have a velcro fastening at the back (all the way up the back) that allows me to use the elasticity of the neoprene to keep water from entering the top. So far so good with them but I haven't tried them in properly wet weather yet.

I agree.....That's one step short of a full on rain cape :o)
None are so wet as those who will not listen.

Personally, I sacrifice everything below the knee to water (so socks which keep warm even when wet are good) unless it's either near-freezing or I'm going somewhere smart. Then the full rain trousers and military boots come out and I ride slooooowly. Overshoes seem like snake oil - they've a damn great hole in the top for your leg, so how can they stop rain running in?

For an overshoe to work properly it must sit under the tight, so water rolls off tight onto the top of overshoe.

However, most of us wear overshoes over the tight so water ingresses between the meeting point.

Went out yesterday in fairly steady drizzle. Planet-X neoprene overshoes over Shimano mtb boots. Feet were still dry after a couple hours on the road. The boots aren't waterproof, but are a lot better than normal cycling shoes at stopping the water getting through. A lot warmer too.

They can't. But they will stop your feet from getting cold, which is the important thing.

waterproof = wet from the inside out, but still warm.
windproof = wet from the outside in, but still warm.

It amounts to the same thing.

Got some waterproof Gripgrabs from wiggle and seem good (use neoprene Castellis in the cold and these in the wet - but they are pretty warm too along with my heatholder socks!)
