The most vile people I have ever met and I was so glad when they moved out.

I really cannot explain what an awful feeling it is to have neighbours that you absolutely hate and detest.

It's the most ghastly thing. You literally have no refuge. You come home each night with a feeling of dread as opposed to knowing that your "security and comfort" awaits Every little creak and noise has the potential to explode into yet another confrontation and you (eventually and despite yourself) change for the worse as you begin to believe that everything they do has malice and is part of some Machiavellian plot against you.

wouldn't wish it on anyone

Talk to your neighbour and get it smoothed out Andy- they'll appreciate it and you'll feel better... life's short enough without having hassle over something that isn't life changing.
Or... failing that, next time he parks like that, sh!t on his car bonnet

Well I went round last night to clear the air and they were out, possibly gone away for a few days if I recall an conversation I had with them a week or so ago. Might work out well as it gives time to let the dust settle and we can talk about it rationally when they return.

Didn't someone on here puke over a car bonnet after a driver gave them some abuse - the OP wasn't actually very well at the time.

Johnny, you are just about the only person who recommends going round and apologising ? Yello belly  (in jest just in case you don't see the smiley).

:becool:...I'm probably the only person that's actually tried all of the above suggestions ...as well as kicking down my "neighbours" front door and causing them to hide under the bed in fear...all to no avail.

trust me...compromise and discussion are the only rational ways to settle neighbourly disputes...ego is your enemy...you have to play the long game.

If you do decide on direct action, try not to make the mistake I did when a small car was blocking my drive early one morning. I get on reasonably well with the neighbours but I didn't recognise the car and it was a bit early to go knocking on all the doors, so I just thought I'd lift the back of the car with a trolly jack and move it along a bit.
I live on a hill, but being early in the day I'd forgotten that...
After an exciting next few seconds I managed to get the thing stoped with a wheel jammed against the kerb. Whether the owned realised next day the car was now parked about 25 yards from where he'd left it I never found out.
