I had to go to hospital last year after washing a pint glass that split in half while I had my hand inside, which then cut off half my knuckle

Unpleasant.
But I hope they are man-stitches, much like man-flu, so that you are only placed on light duties, like being in control of the remote, bending arm to pick up the beer glass etc. Oh and more riding.

Right. Done the proper manly thing and took the stitches out myself. Saves faffing back at the docs. Started off trying to use the kids balsa modelling knives but amazingly they weren't sharp enough. So resorted to swiss army knife scissors and tweezes - job done. Just off to bite the top off a bottle of beer now 
PS quite a painful little area to cut, I recommend you don't do it.
