...yay...the drive belt has come off. At least I know whats wrong now. The thing is that its a sealed unit so getting access to the back of the thing is more than a bit of a mission, except through the tiny bottom panel which doest allow access to the drum to re attach the belt.

...reaches for chainsaw

Pull it out, having disconnected the water & electric & turn it upside down. Access it through the bottom.

That's handy. Intensive web based research A swift bit of googling suggests its a brushless motor, so they won't have worn out, on account of not being there in the first place.

Clean the pump out. If it isn't emptying completely, it won't spin in order to protect the other parts.

I had an old Hoover washing Machine with a similar problem years ago. Inside the pump I found 3 pennies and a 3 inch long strip of metal.

Continued to work fine for years afterwards.

Angle grinder FTW!
Beats using a chainsaw.

And the winner is!!!!!!!!

Have you tried removing the lid?
Remove lid 2 screws at rear hard slap on front to push lid back .

...I'd tried to remove the lid by undoing the rear screws but the thing never shifted and looked sealed at the front end. It was the bit about giving is a hard thump that worked. You have to hit it right though, not just any old thump, has to be at precisely 45 degrees from the front:rolleyes:.

Removing the lid gives you just enough room to squeeze a hand inside. Then the trick is to put the cable on the motor spindle first, then partially around the big drum wheel and turn the drum wheel so the belt goes on under tension. Exactly the same as replacing a chain onto a front cog!

So now the Boab laundry is back in business and tonight I shall smell sooooo much better!

Now that @BigonaBianchi's problem is solved, I wonder if anyone could help me with a (hopefully) minor one.

Machine runs fine, but the bit where you put the conditioner is full of water. Assume it's a drainage issue?
