Been over to my parents tonight for another Christmas dinner (long story dont ask)

Thought it only fair to wash up so did the plates and cutlery no problem when it came to the pans and pots its not like doing your own as you dont know what marks are fresh and will come off with some washing up or has been there for more years than i care to think about .

I find that the " it's probably best to leave these to soak" wheeze gives me enough time to get out of the front door.

Attack it all with a brillo whether it's non stick or not.

Let it soak for a while, then heavy application with elbow grease, brush, sponge or Brillo pad.

As you say, they're not your own, so don't worry too much about it.

its not a matter of being awkward , it would be more of a matter of them hearing the question
