Shouldn't bee be substituted for wasp then it might rhyme as Limericks are supposed to...........and an alternative final line might be "It can do it again if it likes the feckin' little b." Just a suggestion.
Got a feeling it's a Spike Milliganism... though I might be wrong... it's a deliberate non-rhymer... but you might know that already

My son claims that kids in his class have download the mosquito tone onto their mobiles and play it during lessons to annoy each other. Apparently they can all hear it but the teacher can't.

S'true... I put it on my mobile, played it while sat in the living room... could hear a vague buzz... kids came downstairs saying what's that horrible noise? Makes you wonder how differently we perceive music, etc....

Just wanted to do an unashamed bump.

My old dears have got a wasps nest and it is being professionally sorted at a very decent cash price *ahem* on Friday. If anyone lives in the Mids area and is interested, let me know.

Just as a matter of interest - how much? Last time I had to deal with one (40 - 50 cm diameter job in the loft above a bedroom window) the only cost was two cans of that premethrin (sp?) based foam spray and dressing like the toxic avenger much to the wife's amusement. Cost - about £6

£20 but that's money well spent imo since I don't want my dad climbing up ladders at his age and in this shoot weather. Plus wasps aren't exactly his favourite insect ;)

I was aware of this, in a general sort of way, which was why I was looking for a humane solution.

However my sympathy level for wasps was badly dented as a result of this evening's cycle ride.

Several miles out of York a wasp collided with my throat, dropped down into my unzipped top, and then stung me on the chest. It then proceeded to fly around inside my top until I could stop, and strip off my top in front of some rather startled passers by. Even though that was several hours ago the area where I was stung is still throbbing.

I just hope it went on to do something beneficial.

You weren't going fast enough - have you seen what a car windscreen does to a wasp?

We had one under the house about a decade ago. Local farmer laid down some potassium cyanide at the entrance and dropped hydrochloric acid on it - pretty much the same system as the gas chamber...they dropped like flies!

If in the garden (I know it isn't, but just saying), pour petrol down the hole and light with a long taper.

I got rid of one a few years ago. It was in the roof space of a block of garages that adjoined my garden, and I got stung regularly to the point where I couldn't use the garden for two summers running.

Spoke to the council, they couldn't do anything unless the owners of the garage spoke to them. Spoke to owners who weren't interested as the wasps weren't bothering them.

Got some wasp nest destroyer powder and sprayed it into the holes the wasps were using to access the garage. Two days later no more wasps. I then filled the holes with expanding foam to stop any more of the buggers getting in.
