I have just put the words "Linford" and "Shogun" in the forums search engine and it came back with 7 hits...

So I guess weve got 1,024 to go then...
Whereas "4x4" returns 147 hits...

Dealing with the shortage is simple but unpalatable - use less. I think that's going to mean a review of what we grow in East Anglia...

And of golf courses, lawn sprinklers, pressure hoses for washing cars. Sadly the wankpanzers will have to stay a bit dusty in summer. But no need at all for us to have any fears of running out of water for essentials, or to start disgracefully wasting energy to desalinise it.

This is not my area of expertise but I'm led to believe that desalination plants can be run off electricity. So is there any reason they couldn't dedicate some of the hundreds of wind turbines that are now springing up offshore to producing fresh water?

Glad I don't live in the London area if the reports are to believed.

I know that the climate change drum is being banged hard, but I consider this water issue to be an immediate and pressing problem which wil affect the lives of millions of people, and it is happening right now - unlike the effects of climate change which may affect low lying area's.

If the population is allowed to continue to expand in an already densly populated area, something is going to have to give isn't it ?

Should the population/new house building growth in the SE be stymed, or should the infrastucture be ramped up to cope with ever increasing demand ?

(site rules determine I post this here BTW, but I couldn't think of a better place to discuss this)

I think it's time that we started to incentivise population decline - maybe tax credits for people who don't have kids?

It's just an excuse so they can fit everyone with a water meter, then they can really start charging us more for it. probably end up the same price as petrol,
only joking about the last bit,:giggle:

Plenty of water up here, in fact there is more fresh water in Loch Ness than in all the lakes, reservoirs and rivers in England.
