I've had a look through previous posts but i havent found what im looking for.

Iphone 5 case, waterproof with both camera's visable with mount strong enough for offroad MTB able to rotate and lock the phone into position.

I like the Puregear and quadlock, the tigra has poor reviews of the mount.

Any advice welcome!

I would recommend the “Topeak Ridecase Waterproof iPhone 5”.

I have been using the older “Ridecase 2” for years, it the same mount. The stem cap mount is excellent but the case had room for improvement, which they have in the above product.

Unless Apple announces something super-duper in the September iPhone event I’ll be getting the battery version of the case “Topeak Ridecase Waterproof With PowerPack” I do think it's overpriced.

I have a quadlock and it's the only phone mount I ever properly trusted

The Quadlock Case and Poncho is very similar to the older Topeak RidecaseII I use.

The drawback is the Poncho covers the Lightening port. A problem if you wish to connect the phone to a battery and use it in the rain. I got round the problem by cutting a hole in the Poncho.

Hello, BRounsley, would you mind sharing how you cut the holes for the Quadlock poncho please? I love the Quadlock but when the Poncho has been put on it takes away the audio, and charging connector ports. I would love some information as you really sound like you know your stuff, I'm Darren by the way nice to meet you.

Hi Darren

I cut the hole in the iPhone5 Topeak poncho. I just put a slit in with a Stanley knife.

When I was using the Quadlock that was with an iPhone 6. At the time the Quadlock iPhone 6 poncho wasn’t available. I used the Tigra Sport poncho on the Quadlock case. The Tigra Sport poncho has opening ports/covers. I’ve had a look online for Tigra Sport poncho, they don’t seem to sell it anymore. The Tigra Sport poncho worked well. I just had to wrap the lightning connector in tape to get a really snug waterproof seal on the poncho port.

I’m now using a “Topeak Weatherproof RideCase for iPhone 6”.

I would give the case 9 out 10 but for 2 issues.

1) On an all-day 100+ mile soaking the case leaked. I had not greased the seal and I had the charge port open (to charge). It may have been user error. It was drama when it happed and I think it may have damaged the phone lightening port.

2) The charge port only really fits official apple cables. All of my “short” 3rd party cables the ends too big to fit through the hole.

Topeak do a “Weatherproof RideCase for iPhone 5 with Powerpack”, I’m waiting to see if they bring one out for iPhone 6

If you want a case recommendation I’d still suggest “Topeak Weatherproof RideCase”. I just hope my leak wasn’t a design issue.

I only use the RideCase as a bike phone holder. So since my leak I’ve also put insulation tape over the membrane ports of the case. The case has a membrane over the ear piece, mic, and speaker port. This membrane allows sound to pass so you can use the phone while it’s in the case.

One of my other leak theories was the ear piece membrane got overwhelmed by being in the rain for 7 hours.

Hey,

thanks for the detailed informative response, really kind of you, I will take a look at the Topeak for sure, sounds really good, I was thinking about the poncho for the Quad lock, cutting small slits for audio and power lead, then using clear silicone sealant to seal the holes, leaving the leads actually glued on the Poncho if you get me. What do you think?
