I heard recently that some company was recommending that people reverse their cars into parking spaces and that they must make sure when using stairs that they hold the had rail at all times. If they were caught not doing these things correctly, they would be reported to their line manager.

Oddly enough, at my workplace, precisely the opposite directive is in force - i.e. that people must drive forwards into parking bays. If you've sat in an open-plan ground floor office, with open windows (weather was a bit warmer then ), with cars parked immediately outside, engines idling, spewing exhaust gases straight into the office, you'll know the reason why. Indeed, for my sins, I was one of those who pleaded for the rule to be imposed.

and that they must make sure when using stairs that they hold the had rail at all times. If they were caught not doing these things correctly, they would be reported to their line manager.
We have that too. :girl: At least, we have the notices up and there are rules about carrying cups of tea or coffee up or down stairs. Remember, H&S policy is as much about shysters as it is about employees' safety...

I read that , then I went in to my local shopping centre. There was a large notice on the stairs in WHSmith IIRC saying 'Please hold on to the hand rail'

Cafe must be the new Room 101 then.
As for 101, well isn't that where you start most of your threads now?

That is where they seem to end up, but I call it 'artisitic differences' ;)

Ironing curtains is dangerous.---I once fell out of the window .

Don't laugh. My brother put a shirt on once and it had a crease in it. So he gave it quick shot of steam from the iron.
