I once poured a tin of nitromores paint stripper on a weak fire to help it along .
Nearly gassed myself .Went up in a grey mushroom cloud .No air .I fell backwards away from it .What a numpty .

If you any idea how dangerous it is to cut a branch off a tree when you're sitting on it?

I once went to hospital with a badly bleeding ear and burned feet. When they asked what I'd done, I told them that I'd cooked a boil in the bag curry. How did you injure yourself so badly? they said. Well, I explained, it said on the packet "pierce here and stand in boiling water".

... oh, thanks. The blue fleece is mine.:bicycle:

I once many years ago stepped off a plank after hanging that first piece of wallpaper on a staircase .

It's quite a shock i can tell you .I finished up bouncing down the stairs into the hallway .Ending up on hands and knees .Waiting for the pain to start .
Nothing got away with it .

If vacuuming stairs with a stair hugging vacuum cleaner, place it on the steps below you, not above - it hurts when it falls down (on your head).

I've done a really stupid one... having a shave (wet shave) and spotted a stray hair sticking out the top of my ear... just nick that off quickly I thought... claret everywhere, there was! :bicycle:

You as well :bicycle:

OK, OK then, if we're onto this stuff. As a teen, I started up an electric appliance only to find it wasn't working well, bad contacts in the mains lead it seemed. So, in the best DIY spirit, I pulled out the female plug at the appliance end, opened it up and started to re-wire it.

Only thing was, I forgot to pull out the plug at the wall socket end. :bicycle:

Must have come within a whisker of a cardiac arrest. Apparently, I didn't. Still, put me in bed for three days.

As a teen too, I was burning something in the garden (like teens do) and decided to pep it up bit. Got the petrol can kept for re-fueling the mower and started to pour petrol onto the fire. The flame of course shot up the stream of fuel and the whole can caught alight at which point I threw it away from me spraying flaming petrol all over the garden.

Halcyon days!
