Yep, always sold privately, apart from last car which we traded in and lost £££'s on.
This time have decided to lease rather than buy and the car is coming 4 weeks earlier than expected. Have insured both cars so have to offload the current one asap.
It's 7 years old so no dealer would touch it, even though it's spotless, well cared for, high spec and low mileage, probably just have to take a hit.

Dealers hate cash, as it means no HP commission. So if you are going HP then often you have a better bargaining point.

Mrs M, what sort of car and price etc. you never know there maybe somebody on here looking for just what you have for sale.

57 reg Mazda 6SL, 2.5 litre, full leather, Bose, full service history, cruise control, sun roof, xenon headlights, mileage is 49900. Dark red, kind or maroon. Alloys are "a bit chewed" though, and only one key.
Only problem is would need to see and buy before 2/12, so that's why going to We buy any car.

When my missus quit driving we sold her 4 month old Peugeot 2008 back to the dealer. At the time there was a 7 month waiting list and the dealer paid top dollar. WBAC offered only £200 less.

Yep, car only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
Been out this afternoon, trying to tart up the alloys with wee brushes and Muc off, lol.

To stay in business WBAC have to make a profit. If you are not happy with what they offer all you have to do is find the person they are going to sell the car too once they have bought it off of you.

As for chipping back on price, well for sure I will go out to at least 2 retail jobs tomorrow that have not been honestly described.
Yeah I know. Which would have made WBAC even poorer value.
Not many dealers have a grand in a car to give away at the moment. Most of mine would rather you walk away than sell a car with no margin left in it.
Or go somewhere else and get a better deal. WBAC make a profit off people who want a quick sale, so there's always going to be a better option.
That is what I said, they are good for people who do not have the time, desire, drive, or even cannot be bothered.

Hope so, traded in our last car, then saw it on the forecourt a week later for almost twice what we got
Not an option to trade in this time. See what happens later this week.
but probably much better value than using it as a trade in.

without a trade in you should be able to knock them for 10%
I am sorry but your last line is wrong, are you involved with car sales? Like I have been for the last 40+ year's.

Many dealers do not have a grand net in a £10,000 car. Net is the important word.
