Hope so, traded in our last car, then saw it on the forecourt a week later for almost twice what we got
Not an option to trade in this time. See what happens later this week.

So you know in future retail the car yourself. Now I do not expect anyone not involved with running a garage to know the overheads involved, they are huge, not forgetting 20% of any margin, not profit goes directly to HMRC.

Yep, usually sell privately and do ok, just not an option this time unfortunately

If we look back a bit there is somebody wanting "£4,000" for a car that can be bought from a main dealer fully prepped and with a 12 month warranty for less.

Now when WBAC offer say £2500 What will be the response?
they probably have 2 in it - biggest sharks out there - motor traders.
That is so not true and is something I take offence to.

Bit like cyclist, there are good and bad.

Do you understand net.

Hoping for £4000.
Knowing will get less, it's got to go.
WBAC has offered slightly under what we'd like, to entice us in, but know they will come down.
Up to the hub as it's his car and one of the many reasons he's decided to lease in future.
Probably just have to take what's offered

They are a great car and I would think he enjoyed driving it, unfortunately the market is quite small for a car of that type at this moment. I would give it a few days on eBay if I was you.

Depreciation is a thing we have to contend with even when leasing as it is built into the monthly, are you locking in for 3 years? If so getting out early can be expensive, as can going over the mileage. Be careful.

A few years ago hub was looking for a specific car.
Saw one in Aberdeen, called Tues to arrange test drive on Sat. Went along on time, no car, waited 35 mins then car arrived. Had been used as a courtesy car and had obviously just transported some very wet, smelly dogs to the beach for some fun. Interior and exterior were filthy.
No apologies from salesman, just a fake enthusiastic, "jump in", re, no thanks.
Walked away.
Went to Dundee for a test drive, garage stayed open till we arrived, then spent plenty of time for a decent test drive and lots of questions, excellent customer service, bought the car, much higher spec and good price.
When we went to pick the car up, salesman met us at train station, had everything organised and could not have been more helpful. That's the way to do it!

Thanks very much for your advice, mileage allowance on lease car is way over what we would normally do, hope they take into account the deliver drive from Taunton to Aberdeen! A few hundred miles already on the clock.

Get the driver to sign saying the delivery mileage, it may help if you do go over.

What are you leasing?

Nice little car, £260 a month+VAT?

£356 all in, includes servicing, tyres ,etc
Hub worked out that over the next few years we will save £s by leasing.
He is fed up buying nice cars, looking after them well, then losing out when it comes to sell.
Bought a very nice A4 a few years ago, 6 months old, 2000 on the clock, approx £6000+ off new price.
Kept it for 5 years, 47000 miles on clock, then got less than £4000 as trade in.

You will still be paying depreciation, only monthly instead of in one go. I take it you are VAT registered and are claiming it for business use, if not, well that is an expensive way to drive a car.
