We have a few Australian members so I'm not sure why they are not allowed to post here?

Cycling issues in Australia should worry us, they have mandatory helmet laws and generally seem quite anti-cyclist. Ideas once put into place in one english speaking modern country can often be used to try and leverage those same rules into others.

This is a UK forum is it? How is that determined?

It's not that these posts 'shouldn't be allowed', and the point about leverage is well made, but the sensationalist titles that make no reference to Australia, on a UK forum where most members are from the UK, seems rather annoying and pointless to me (unless the originator is looking for attention or extra likes, who knows).
The "originator" is trying to open the discussion. Similar problems exist, worldwide, for us. The thread 0-203 mph came via a 10 hour old, at the time, Australian link. Three separate threads appeared later for the same piece.
The helmet, started in Campaigning, someone else started it here. Which took thread received the most replies.

They were started with the intention of trying to get people talking. The same as the women in cycling was done.

The opening post on this thread doesn't have a single like to it, just in case you didn't notice.

It's just that this has just started being a regular thing every day suddenly @classic33. Made me wonder too. Nobody wants to stop anyone posting, but these seem to just be random quotes pasted from Aussie papers which appear to be akin to our Daily Mail and don't seem to be anything more than just stirring things up somewhat.

There are little to no further words from your own mind and may or may not even be to any interest of your own either?

I honestly don't think that this is your intention, in fairness, but a few people are obviously seeing it come across in this manner. No offence meant, just trying to explain.

Meaning, just continue posting as you have been. Nothing more.
No one makes you read anything on here, and a quick check shows you are wrong on your "everyday" theory.
Check who actually started the helmet thread in this sub-forum. You'll find it wasn't me.

I thought it was called a 'fun and friendly online community'? What's the problem with posts from anywhere? Maybe make you feel we're not as badly off as we often think.

It was a friendly point being made too. Friendliness is a 2 way thing remember. ;)

If the context was from a foreign country, but put forward as the thoughts of the poster, then a number of us would not have an issue.

It's the inane quoting of journalists from a tabloid paper without any of the posters thoughts that gets boring.

Don't see any today though...

When I was in Oz, I got a lift from Darwin to Brisbane. In the middle of know where I spotted a small group of roos not far from the road, munching minding their own business. Suddenly the guy driving swerved off the road and tried to run them down. His car was a 4x4 UTE with big bull bars on the front. He said kangaroos were a pest and where he was from in Western Australia they often go off road and shoot them. There were lots of Aussies with this sort of attitude to things that got in their way or they didn't like. It was shocking and depressing.

So it is no surprise that there is so much anti-cyclist hatred in Australia. They can be quite bigoted. Strange as Australia is quite a sporting nation that enjoys the outdoors.
