You can replace chainrings on ht2 chainsets just the bolts are hidden iirc.

Hollow Tech bottom brackets are just crap. I had enough of changing them far too often. Far too easily damaged by water ingress. Back to square taper for me.

They are indeed inferior to square taper and I too was replacing them often. I then moved to packing them with weather resistant grease upon installation (Silkolene Pro as used by motorcycle workshops) and adding a grease lip between the outer plastic cover and inner seal. Mileage has improved hugely.

I had a 2007 Octalink Hollowtech 1 chainset, it was great: still not worn out after 28,300 miles, easier than square taper to fit & remove, and the chainrings were replaceable (I fitted a new middle ring several times). The previous square taper BB lasted 16,300 miles.

Cheap and easy though.

Indeed, but pain in the arris to have to 1: keep forking out for new BB's and 2: having to change the bloody things.
I've changed over to Spa square tapered cranksets and BB's. Not only they are a great price, especially individual chainrings, they look good too.
