Wearing plastic gloves on a roadside puncture repair...

I do carry a pair in my rucksack.
Not so much for me as my bike is as clean as a button.
But more for the rare case having to help a stranded roadside cyclist who's bike cleaning skills are non existent.

Useful but not essential. No point on puncture repairs as I tend to rip them to bits anyway but okay on other mucky tasks. A wet-wipe kind of thing is not a bad idea though (not that I want to start another baby wipes love in )

good idea , I tell my self every time I,m fiddling with the chain, I should get those disposable gloves and save getting oil on everything. - of course I've forgotten by the time I finish the ride.

I carry them and tend to forget to put them on as they are normally stuffed right at the bottom of the bag.

I used to carry them but decided I prefer the sensitivity of my finger on thr thankfully rare occasion of a p'ture/mechanical.

I always (unless I forget) carry some latex gloves and some hand wipes.

Don't mind the wholesome dirt but don't like oil and why is it that whenever I need to get a wheel or tyre off It's just been ridden through a load of cow/ horse/ dog/ whatever else is around sh1t?

If you come off your bike and mash your mitts then they are damn handy for stopping blood going all over the shop as you miserably head for home.

My issue with gloves is that if I wear them for more than a couple of minutes they make my hands very hot and make my excema flare up something awful.
I wonder if any of you chaps know of a good barrier cream that I could use to protect my delicate porcelain (I think that's what my o/h called it...Or it could have been porcine. That's the same thing right?) skin from the worst of the oil and grease?

I've given up using latex gloves when fixing punctures.. My fingers always go through them within seconds of putting them on.

I'm one step ahead of you, here. I carried some around for ages but it still never occurred to me to use them on roadside stops until too late.
