I've got the BBC weather app which is run by the Met Office. It talks a load of flannel until the day before then starts getting more accurate.

I use Windfinder but I happen to be near two of their forecast areas. Depends where you are on the coast.

Based in Blackpool now you definitely find alot of wind here

Wind / sea breezes have nothing to do with, and are not affected by, high tide. High tide / low tides work on an 11-hour cycle so high tide will be at a different time each day.

I don't know what @classic33 meant when he said "you will have the wind of the sea until 13:30". Local knowledge, maybe?

I have taken the ferry to knot end before but not when I had my bike with me.

We did it on THIS forum ride. It was low tide so there was a big step down to the ferry at Fleetwood and a couple of us almost came a cropper - take care when getting on or off with a bike!

Thanks for all the advice and tips on the weather picked today to go for my ride and think I chose the best day. The wind stayed calm and conditions were pretty amicable with some sunshine even breaking through at times.
Really enjoyed the ride too, was nice to get some miles in after a long time out of the saddle and also the opportunity to check out new routes to explore since moving into the area
