Chilly this morning. Apparently. Daughter did the horse first thing so the lie in was taken. Currently stewing in a hot bath to alleviate various minor aches. Later Mrs figbat and I will be popping down the local for NYE; possibly the first time we’ve left the house on NYE since the turn of the ‘millennium’ (with two ‘n’s; inverted commas to address the pedantry that 2000 wasn’t really the beginning of a new millennium).

Between now and then… well those leftovers aren’t going to eat themselves. Staying clear of the bathroom scales for a bit, at least until my new year cycling regime gets underway.

Turned out a splendid day... waited in for the cloud to disperse, and with good timing the new £80 Bluetooth 200W Thomson 'Soundbar' arrived thanks to a cheery La Poste lady, and promptly mounted on the wall (the soundbar, not the La Poste lady).

Then toddled off by foot in the sun to town to get some vital supplies, as the the shops will shut at midday tomorrow (well, absolutely everything will, this being France). Reckon tomorrow might be a gentle walk up a mountain to eat bread and hot soup for lunch, with a view over my domain/playground.
