Getting a diagnosis of any autistic spectrum disorder (like aspergers) can be a mixed blessing.Strange that autism has come up, having recently read about how Cadel Evans might have Aspergers it would certainly explain a lot for me as well, i always put it down to abandonment issues with my mother dieing when i was 10 but Aspergers certainly describes a lot of what i feel (although i could be a hypochondriac paranoid looking for answers )
Having "answers" can be a huge benefit and also the diagnosis itself can lead to possible therapies too, if indeed they're wanted.
Problem can be having that "label". It may, just may, cause you disadvantages, even if they're not obvious. This label can possibly place you in a more "losing" position in an argument, for example.
This may be a can of worms and perhaps even the cafe sub forum of cyclechat is not the place to delve into it.
All the best matey.
