Weird stingy tree of death

Went out for a walk on the downs today and brushed my hand on a sapling in a hedgerow. Now ever since I have had a painful hand. Feels a bit like a stinging nettle kind of pain but no little white bumps and the pain has yet to go away. Any ideas what it may have been? Should I write my will now.

I thought with blackthorn you tended to get the tips of the thorns left in the skin, so you'd see them...
