So many seem to like to blame someone else for their unsafe cycling, im surprised you didnt have a go at the car on the wrong side of the road overtaking a parked car, but then you were focused on the van were you not? It must be why i have never had so many incidents as some on here, as a matter of course i look left also when turning left, you never know what could be there.

You must have a very boring life, Col.

So he was pretty stupid, but what's the actual problem for you?

You arrive at a give way junction, look both ways - which should be a given and no-one's safety is endangered.

Who says EMD saw it as a problem. Its a curiosity.

Anyway, you expect two wheelers to filter... not so much the larger vehicles.

He overtook people who were actually driving - the parked cars were further up the road.

I meant the one before you got to the junction, eagle eyes you have eh?

Wise words - who else would countenance looking in the very direction they're heading for! No wonder you have very few incidents, Col.

Obviously some here dont

Impossible with some of the comedians here:laugh:
I look forward to the next exciting instalments of everyday things happening and blame being laid because the filmer has nothing better to do, or is trying to join in on pointing out the error of drivers ways, even when its nothing in the whole scheme of things. Oooh he could have killed, maimed , or what if he swerved and what if what if, oh forget that i didnt look :laugh::laugh:
My stomachs killing me

I have one shortcut that I use occasionally through a housing estate, end up joining the main road about 150m away from the junction but it can be queueing cars all that distance. I'm turning right so they usually let me through. I always check to the right before pulling out, (as cyclists filter on the right to the junction), but occasionally its a car who is too important to wait!

Sarcy or what? ;)

Of course it's sarcastic. Have you not noticed the way he continually criticises people? Have you ever heard him talk about his own mistakes? Does he give people the benefit of the doubt? Everything is obvious to him with hindsight.

Sorry I've not been at work over the weekend, thus the lack of posting!!!

I posted this video out of amusement. At no point was I actually concerned about being hit etc. As you'll see from the comment on the vid, it was more an observation of what could have happened if I had been driving a car/van in the same manner as him.

The car overtaking a parked car seemed to leave enough room for a bike to get through. How was Eat My Dust cycling unsafely at any point, or blaming it on anyone else? Do you think it's ok for the van to overtake a line of traffic like that? Are you so obsessed with critisising other cyclists that you can't just sit back and say "blimey, that van driver was a plonker!"

The point is it happens all the time, its nothing new, and if you look left just as you look right it isnt a problem for a cyclist.
Not obsessed with critisising cyclists, just things I see that seem to contradict good and safe cycling. Hence this title of crusade against one, it just so happens I believe his ways cause more than they prevent.
Why post it if he wasnt saying anything about this drivers actions, which are stupid yes, but common and easily avoided by us if your alert.

Have you not read ANY of the above by EMD? Whats wrong with posting curiosities? Jake did it a fair few times (anyone remember his "shiny helmet"?).
