Well, not so good today....

Got laid off. Too bad as my commute in was so nice -it was 8 miles with almost half done off road in a relatively urban setting. While I can only hope my next commute will be as nice, alas, I think it will be unlikely.

Well, will be off these boards for a (hopefully short) time as I'm officially not commuting as of today As soon as I get another job, first thing I'll be doing is thinking how to cycle to it!

Never say never Nigeyy: you might end up with a better job and a nicer commute.
At least, when at interviews they ask you that silly question "why do you want to work here?" you can answer truthfully: "because it's a nice bike ride in"

I was made redundant about 18 months ago and it was about 6 months before I started work again. On the positive side while I was unemployed I used my bike more than I'd ever done and ate better food (more time to buy and prepare it). As a result I became slimmer and felt healthier than I ever have before or since

Bad news and I wish you the best of luck in getting back into gainful employment. But, unless you're going from indoor track to the road, there's no reason to retire from the board A bit of bike camaraderie can't do any harm, besides spring's on its way and the roads are inviting.
