Well padded shorts

When riding, I tend to wear a pair of 3/4 trousers with padded shorts underneath - I have one pair of cheapo Karrimor Sports Direct cycling shorts and a pair of Endura padded undershorts - basically cotton boxers with a padding layer.

The Karrimor shorts aren't great - pinch a bit around the thighs and not amazingly breathable, but the padding is fairly sturdy compared to the Endura shorts which have rather thin padding that gets a bit uncomfortable after a while.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably affordable pair of shorts that have particularly good padding? Would be good to have something a bit better perhaps for my long ride next weekend! I'll be wearing them underneath trousers so particularly high quality racing wear isn't really important - comfort over long distance is the key.

I can vouch for them EDIT, albeit the bib version.

I may invest in some of the £40 decathlon ones given I'm doing more rides > 80 miles these days.

Unfortunately i need a small/ medium or i would have .. apparently they are made to fit , i have been stung in the past with badly fitting shorts .

I have a couple of pairs of DHB bib shorts and a pair of bib longs. No complaints at all.

The DHB shorts I bought earlier this year have been comfortable for the last 400km, no complaints from me!

I do something similar - Endura Humvees in 3/4 length with their clickfast liners. BUT when the liners are in the wash I've found the Tenn-outdoors shorts pretty good under them.
I've also got a couple of pairs of 3/4 leggings when I'm feeling brave about walking through the office in them.

If the Tenn Outdoors mens shorts are as good as the ladies shorts (given the only change should be in the shape of the padding), they are very comfy IMHO. I don't have a very ladylike shape (short and stocky, and they fit me well. The prices seem to have gone up by about £1 since I bought several pairs.

My brother wears DHB shorts, I cant recall what the price was but dhb isn't usually dear. He said the only complaint in the reviews was from somebody saying they were too padded ;-) He sometimes wears them under 3/4 also.
