First I was overtaken halfway through my commute and thought I vaguely recognised the bloke as someone from work. Just as I was thinking this he set off from the junction and his chain promptly snapped! Turns out it was who I thought it was so it was nice to identify one of my fellow cycle commuters. I had a chain tool but neither of us knew how to use it so he faced a four mile walk back to the LBS. Apparently the chain was new...
I merrily carried on my way, but when I got to the large roundabout a couple of miles down the road something seemed to have happened. Looked to the left and there was a cyclist on the verge being tended to
. The police were there and there was a woman leaning against a lampost looking very shocked so I assume she'd run into him. It can only have happened five minutes before as he'd overtaken me a few miles before (going much faster than me). I hope he's alright
.
Let's hope I get home in one piece.
