Finished last night- I've managed to fall off the bike every December for the last 5 years on my commute- amazed to have got through this one OK. Off to the in-laws for a couple of days in a bit- Mrs G driving- me on the bike. Have a good one everyone.

I've done a smidgen over 4,000 miles this year. I only got the bike at the beginning of March though, so next year I should crack 5,000. I've made sure to put aside all the money saved over using the motorbike. That's paid for my new bike, and all the Xmas pressies with a fair bit left over.

Big respect to all who have posted, for the miles done and for keeping going, december has been a harsh month, and the fun element certainly escaped me on some days, mainly down to a motorist calling me a w****r at 6.40 in the morning, because he had to slow to let one oncoming car pass before overtaking me, its things like that that really piss me off.

Mileage is in my sig I'd say all but 300-350 of that is commuting miles.
Still not given up on my yearly target if I can get a ride or 2 in next week.

Disapointed to have only ridden 2 days in December, that has really messed up my plans, must sort that out next year.

Last commute was Wednesday...for some reason i bottled it Thursday..just sick of having so many layers on. I mythered (sp) for ages before setting off...car, bike, car, bike ?...sod it, car.
Shame really, AFAIK it was the first commute i missed all year. (barring illness, shopping days once a week etc)
A good years commuting, nowhere near as many miles as some of you, but no serious incidents and no accidents. Thats worth its weight in itself.

My last commute was Friday 10th, and I'm happy to say I didn't miss a single bicycle commute this year . Last year, I took PT for about 10 days overall, but this year I rode my bike to & from work on every work day.

I didn't quite meet my MCL goal of 17,000km (I'm currently at 16,020km or so, and no hope of reaching the goal by Friday). However, tomorrow I'll pass 10,000mi, as I'm going on a ride to Melbourne's Mt Donna Buang and Lake Mountain, in training for next month's Audax Alpine Classic 200km event.

Regards,

--- Victor.
