Jeez, that's a bunch of Codeine, hope the hip settles down enough for the surgery.
It's the codeine that means I'm not fit to work really. In a constant opiate semi-fog I can attend, but where I used to be involved in some strategic decision making, nowadays I struggle to comprehend some quite basic documents. My pride has eventually got the better of me, and I'd like to be remembered for some of the things I put in place rather than the old fella shuffling round and grinning a lot. ^_^

Well done Chap.

Once you're sorted.. more cycling for you methinks.

Sounds like a mixed bag of positives and negatives. I sincerely hope you can resolve the lesion and end that particular cycle so you can get on another cycle.

See what I did there.

Early retirement and full pension is a Big +..
The pain is the life changer..hope you get the hip done ,it must depress the hell out of you..

Early retirement and full pension, you lucky bugger! Now just need to get the hip issue sorted then the party can begin :okay:

I have avoided cycling since last April. Part of the reasoning was that if I had another fall and aggravated it, the job would rightly criticise me for delaying my return to full health and fitness. Now that I'm no longer subject to that I want to try a gentle reintroduction to cycling. Mrs Cube has refused to let me go to 'Degla just yet. She suggested a bit of gentle towpath cycling, until I pointed out that seven years ago I went for a "gentle towpath ride" and suffered a crushed vertebra.

Good luck with the hip, and congratulations on retirement, you have most certainly earned it. Join NARPO and spend some commutation on Flint house after your surgery.

Well done. Hope you remembered to book off.;)

You've done your time and given your all. Now for a well deserved retirement and the start of a new chapter.

All the best on the health front. Medicine changes by the day and let's hope the sooner the better for you.
That reminds me, I need to go and shut down the laptop for the last time.

I have some plans making a favourite hobby pay a bit to make up the difference with a mate of mine. It'll involve a move to N Yorks, but every cloud and all that!

I would be more concerned about not pooing properly based in that amount of codeine !

Hope you get sorted injury wise so you can enjoy retirement . Please don't do a Vernon.

Congratulations:smile:. Hope the hip gets sorted,, if it hasn't been compressed out of existence then surgery hoves in view.

The codeine concrete is a passing phase. Fluids and all bran will eventually win.

I'm avoiding absinthe and kitchen rocketry.
Yep, you learn how to deal with the codeine 'cork' effect but how people cope with it, or Morphine, long term is beyond me (I had a couple of months on it when I broke my Femur and then another few months when they removed the pin and stuck a bigger one in)
I mean I've never been averse to the odd bit of 'wacky baccy' but Opiates are not pleasant IME.
