Thats it folks.............end of an era
NO...........not what you are thinking, I havent sold the bike, instead I got up in a very positive mood at 6am
and at 8am as the sun was breaking through I decided to try the bikes new components and see how well my set up was, so on with some winter gear as it looked fresh but not too cold, and away I went.
It was fine riding through town with the roads having a nice dry line on the main roads, but once out onto the country lanes the nice dry lines turned int sodden roads with lots of ice still lying in wait for unwary vehicles including bikes, but I did get round unscathed but wet.
Heres the road I first went along, looks ok but there is a lot of ice in the centre so through the larger puddles I had to go.
Then I had to stop to allow a Kestrel to finish its breakfast, and I am very sorry about the extremely poor picture quality ........I know you cant see it but its there in the middle just off the road
All together it was only about 13miles but once out in the country I realised I wasnt properly dressed with only 2 base layers and a thin waterproof jacket and the wind was bitingly cold so I turned around, once home I was pleased to see that due to the roads being partly covered in ice, the bike was only wet and not very mucky so a good clean and lube is on the cards for this afternoon whilst the wife is at work.
Wet but not too mucky Carrera
Wish I could say that about the shoes.......definately dirty
Anyway, it looks like I have my mojo back, I am still upset that the wife isnt coming along for health reasons but the bike performed fantastic and I must say my bike setting up is perfect...oh apart from the left cleat, but thats nothing, so really a very enjoyable little ride out this morning.
