Did your front wheel hit horse shoot? There is a fair amount of it on the GBW. I like horses but allowing them on the GBW path is madness. At the very least the riders should have to carry shovels to get the shoot off the road as it is lethal if you hit it after dark or just lose concentration and the next thing you are going arse over tit down onto the road.
