Were you men present for the birth of you child/children ?

Couldn't go in for our first (1993) as my missus had to have an emergency C-section, but was there for our second in 1996. I don't care what anyone says, seeing your children for the first time is the greatest feeling in the world.

Not my first 45+ years ago but for the second it was at home with a mid-wife. We invited family and friends and of course our first child to join us for the birth. The personalization of family and friends was very special for us. The home birth environment just added to the occasion.

I’ve been there twice. But stayed very much at the head end of the bed.
I wasn’t interested in seeing too much of the action end.
The first one was a fairly slow affair, with the cord wrapped around my daughter’s neck.
The second was my son, who only weighed 6lb and shot straight out.

Yes I was there when our daughter was born by caesarean section.😀

No idea if this is better / worse or just different than being there for a natural birth as we only had one child .😀
