Hi , is this the right place to post?? I am planning to cycle the west highland way this summer and would like to build my own wheels for the trip. Any suggestions for good compatible/durable rims and hubs, spokes etc. Also any training tips would be appreciated. Thank You, John

This West Highland Way? - "WHW is increasingly popular with experienced mountain bikers. The terrain is widely varied and challenging, passing through woodland and forest, over watercourses and hills, across wilderness and moorland, with some tough gradients. However, if you've got the fitness, skill and stamina it's a superbly rewarding trail.
The East Bank of Loch Lomond from Rowardennan is technically challenging and you'll find yourself carrying your cycle as much as it carries you. It's particularly tough north of Inversnaid - resulting in 3-5 hours shouldering your bike.
Hence, our top tip - from the eastern banks of Loch Lomond you and your bike can be transported by boat to the western shore. This wear and tear saving exercise is a useful way of getting you & your machine safe and sound to your first overnight stop at the top of Loch Lomond." Some of it is difficult walking, never mind cycling. That's quite a challenge you are taking on. Best of luck.
