I think there was a thread about shoe covers a while back, but cant seem to find it. Is there such a thing even? Just that the gore-tex trainers althoguh keep the water out - great for walking, on the bikes it's a different matter. they are still on the radiator drying. Help and suggestions. ta

I've got some shoe covers- they aren't for keeping the water out, they're for making my feet a bit more aerodynamic. You can get overshoes- these are good for keeping your feet warm and they will keep the water out for a while. If the rain is heavy enough or you go far enough or there's loads of standing water on the roads it'll get in somehow.

Most of the time they work pretty well tho'.

The other thing I do is have two pairs of shoes, I've got an old pair that I use while my regular ones are drying. Stuffing newspaper in the shoes helps to draw the water out so they dry quicker.

hmm i had to dig out another pair of non-goretex trainers. Dont think i go fast enough to even worry about aerodynamics

As a quick fix, I have put polythene bags over my socks and then slip my feet into my trainers. Shoes might remain/get wet but your feet stay dry

I bought a pair of cheap overshoes from Aldi. They are really useful if you've run out of wet things to hang around your tiny one-bed flat. Other than that, they are about as much use as tits on a bull.

I like to wear mesh trainers (because they dry out quick) and waterproof socks.

Works the best for me.

I don't have raditators to dry things on at work but this seems to be okay - the outside of the socks are wet but feet are warm and dry - also the waterproof socks seem to be good at stopping the wind going through the mesh trainers.

(Trainers are just some Nike ones - can't remember the name - I love 'em!!)

I have some of those, they are indeed a bit crap, but I use them on cold days, they keep the cold air off your shoes, useless in the wet though.
