Any ideas how to keep your feet dry, I had my Goretex Sidi's and my SealSkinz socks on this morning, but my socks had about two pints of water in them when I got to work. I think the water must have run down my tights and into my socks but I do not know how, it has never happened before. It is that bad my socks and shoes are still wet now 13 hours after

Can not help with advise over keeping your feet dry, I work on the theory that as the rest of me is soaking my feet might as well be.

However my top tip is to keep some old newspaper in your desk at work (if you can) and stuff your shoes with that during the day and that will dry them out. I had to change the paper 3 times today but my shoes were dry when I got home.

I wore my sealskinz today for the first time, feet stayed warm and dry, but I did not wear any socks inside them, so they were quite tight on the ankle

had that happened to me a few weeks ago.

tricks: spare pairs of shoes and socks at work, and a fan assisted oven operate at 70øC. socks dried in30mins

+1 Sealskinz. Not cheap, but my feet have stayed dry. Don't mind the rest of me getting wet too much, but wet feet...

I don't think you will ever keep your feet completely dry but the aim is to keep them warm and not getting soaked.

Front mudgard with a flap and overshoes work for me. I have never bothered with so called waterproof socks as the reviews are iffy at best.

I've got waterproof socks and I love them!

I got mine from e-bay - £3.99!

Mine are sort of like a wet suit inside and a little bit fluffy on the outside.

I find that even if they do get wet from water running down your legs your feet stay nice and warm just like a wetsuit.

Synthetics don't hold water as well as natural fibers. Poly-cotton socks dry in no time. Asda have a load of cheap poly-cotton socks on sale at the moment.

Other than that it is a long front mudguard with flap as suggested. Most of the water will have come from your front tyre.

Are you sure your not wearing this inside out?

.......As some knowlegable soul once told me on this very forum..."fortunaltey we are waterproof, so rain is never really an issue" (sorry I cant recall who said that)

I agree with 4f...warm is the key, dry is virtually unacheivable. my shoes are the sort of light weight mesh type that let in all sorts of weather, fortunatley they also let it back out again so dry out super fast.

so I just kinda ignore the wet feet thing..although in really heavy rain I do hate the feeling of squishy socks as i pedal.

I bought a pair of specialized defroster boots for my winter commute last year. Totally toasty and dry despite the best efforts of a northwest winter.
