What a cr*p invention!

So I got an Onguard Bulldog U-Lock for Christmas. I am pleased with the lock, mount and that it has 5 keys. However the key with the LED light was dim and sometimes the LED didn't extinguish when you released the button. Doesn't matter as it's not essential. So I flipped the key open and found this is how the switch works. I mean what a rubbish peice of engineering, I am speachless:

The BBC report that I linked to above shows a simulation of what could happen. (A button cell was placed on a piece of ham and had water poured on it. It got very nasty over a couple of hours.)

I've got one which I use for trips to the shops. I haven't had any problems with it, other than it weighing a LOT! I had never looked inside the illuminated key - they do seem to be pretty crap though, from the photo posted above!
