Jealousy aside, its a shame as the Veyron is a piece of engineering genius!

I have a sneaky feeling Bugatti won't repair it, they cost £5 million to make each one and they sold them at a £4.2million loss, only built them as an exercise to prove it could be done.

If you crash one its a write off end of story, same as the guy from Surrey that crashed his brothers one a few years back. Didnt look that badly smashed but was written off!

Have to agree - probably the finest piece of machinery to have been called a "car."

I was talking to someone about it a while ago and we decided it was not just a "car"

Well if it were written off the owner's insurance premium will look a bit eye watering come renewal time. Also if it were written off the payout would be born across all insureds as I am sure it would be considerably greater than the premium paid . Or may be it was only insured TPFT so the loss is all the owner's ? Should have been insured TPFWT or TPFLT........

I think it is funny.

Find it mildly amusing myself. But then I'd probably find it funny if someone did it in a Micra too.

I was in a petrol station yesterday and there was a guy filling up a Porsche next to me. Normal looking bloke in a shirt and tie but I had to try and stop myself from thinking 'You're probably a tosser!'.

And that's the problem with flash cars. We think it's funny when they crash because we know that there's a pretty good chance that the guy who owns it is a tosser. Sad but true.

Would that be funny if it was someone in a nissan micra. Not really. But because he's probably done well for himself and has an expensive car you think it's funny???

Says a lot to be honest!

Yes, it would be funny. It would fall into the "it's funny because it's not me" category.

That, and the guy was driving a £1m supercar whilst talking on the phone and blatantly unaware of his surroundings... he got his comeuppance and yet nobody was hurt in the process.

So... where's this low flying bird then?

Its quite obvious he was just a tw*t that crashed his car stupidly, more than likely was looking at the people filming him.

He probably sat gently weeping inside the car/masterpiece of modern engineering as it was slowing filling up with water realising the news would spread faster than that of peanuts departure and a low flying pelican was the best he could come up with!

He obviously didnt make his millions in the creative sector!:laugh:

I am not sure Churchill or shiela's wheels insure cars like this... Would love to know what the premium is on one of those!

Having said that, my dad had a 355 spider a few years back and it cost £325 a year to insure (limited to 5,000 miles per year) through a specialist insurance company.
