What are the Greek Islands like these days?

Rhodes I imagine will be awash with water parks.

There's a big one (I'm told it's Europe's largest) in Faliraki, although the OP will want to stay elsewhere given his spec.
I'd suggest Lindos for a laid back and historical place to stay, or Lardos for somewhere that's very real and almost completely non-touristificated. I stayed in Kolymbia last summer and I'd go back... very quiet and sleepy although there are some big AI hotels there that no one seems to leave. No matter, there are still some nice tavernas etc there.

2nd vote for Kephalonia, its the only holiday I've ever done twice (going again in July).

Ditto.

Went last year for the second time.

How much does it cost to Oldham?

Did Parga last year. Very very nice. Like Greece we do. Got married in Scala 5 years ago.
The Greek islands in springtime are astonishingly beautiful. July and August are often very hot and packed out. Lucky buggers that can go outside of school holidays!
Yes Crete in spring is really nice, that's one Greek island I would go back to

my womans sister has a place in Samos which is very close to Turkey, 3 visits in the last 12 months and although they've had a issue with refugees, SKY NEWS where there filming the boats coming across from Turkey, they are far from living in fear of the refugees, in fact their biggest fear is nobody coming due to the bullshite stories of them living in fear..

(I was in lesbos last september and saw with my own eyes ....it's shocking... My farm is 3km away from the centre of Mytline on a hill ) .... here's video footage from youtube of whats happening there on a daily basis

I am so, so sorry your multiple properties are under threat from the downtrodden masses of the world. Not.

Seriously, keep this in SC&P.

Sorry, but that's cheap. You might not like @dims property arrangements, but that doesn't mean he can't give a local opinion. Have you got riots outside your zero energy home in Ontario?

He's not local, it's not his home, nor does he represent local opinion. Apart from that, fair point...

Cyprus is our favourite place (my wife being from there has nothing to do with it!). We stay in one of the Constantinou Brothers hotels in Paphos - there are four of them on the front in Kato-Paphos and we've stayed in them all in our time but the best family one would be Pioneer Beach. We stay in the Asimina mainly because it's adults only so no screaming snotty kids.

In Cypus, they drive on the PROPER side of the road, use the same plugs as us and everyone speaks English. The cycling is the best in Europe in that the roads are in amazingly good order, very quiet and you can get right up into the Troodos mountains with Paphos as your base.

Lovely place, been twice and stopped in a friends apartment in Pissouri
