Bruce Dickinson is technically a much better singer, but theres little passion or soul there. As good as they are they really became a paint-by-numbers heavy metal band once Dickinson arrived.

Im the wrong person to ask as ive not really been following them that long I used to have a friend who loved them but he moved back home. Ignoring everything before it, I thought Emperor of the sand was a good album though. It did tickle my fancy.

Ah! I enjoyed them from early on. Their first four albums are incredible.

Then I literally wondered WTF had happened with The Hunter - I found it in an old CD case today though, so I may give it another go. Might as well get involved with Emperor too.
