I have a strong hunch that being bad at art/music/languages mostly means being bad at estimating how much effort is needed in these areas to produce decent results.

I base this on taking 40 years to be reasonable at Dutch, and seeing how much effort and dedication it has taken Ms AU to play the piano effortlessly.

Maybe, but in my case, I'm really not good at languages. I learned German by living here: I didn't really get it at school. I got an 'E' in GCSE French.

Problem is I've got 10000hrs but over 10 different things!🤣🤣🤣

I hate with all my being small talk.I am ok talking about cycling or football mainly Leeds.But my social circle is either my many work mates,about 10-14 of them once a month and i can talk with them. we worked together since 1983 when i went indoors and left the streets my other group is church,and we have some very clever people and my lack of education shows up,so i talk about diy and gardening,but i really am useless in social circles.
