What cadence cyclo computer....

I'm after a cyclo computer that measures cadence. Ideally wired - nothing against wireless it is just most lack the distance I need in this particular situation (i.e greater than 70cm).

The wheel sensor needs to go on my bike's rear wheel for a turbo trainer that is not magnetic (elastogel type), so does not interfere with a cyclo computer - exisitng wireless non-cadence type works fine just useless location for actually seeing it.
What pro's and con's, difficulties encountered, problems I should investigate before purchase, others general experience of cadence type computers etc?

EDIT: it's to fit a 54cm Triban 3 (not sure if that helps but...)

If you can afford to, just go Garmin, you will never look back! The wireless link will work from several meter's away.

thank you - useful to know. Asumming that is both wires? (one for cadence monitor and the other for the wheel?)

A good design only needs one sensor, it sits on the none drive side chain stay, a magnet on the back wheel and a magnet on the crank, both pass the same point on the chain stay so only 1 cable and 1 sensor unit is needed.

Yes. Separate sensors. Cadence sensor just behind the seat tube and speed sensor about 6" from the rear axle, with lots of wire to spare

Regretfully finances don't permit. I only have an iPhone because my brother was avoiding a birthday and Christmas present, and gave us his old one and whilst I know there is a device that will work with it - it again is out of my price bracket.

Cateye Strada Cadence.

Supplied as standard with wires long enough to reach the rear wheel.

OK - mad question time. reading a review on the Cateye Strada Cadence, it suggests that the cadence measure is an average cadence rather than an instantaneous. I'm after the instantaneous cadence (or averaged over a minute, rather than entire ride time). Can anyone shed light on this please. I was about to purchase one. thanks

The Cateye Strada Cadence only gives instantaneous cadence, no average. The Cateye Wireless v2 (the next model up in the range) has both instantaneous and average cadence readings.
