Ah no, it's not rack compatible out of the box. To quote the manufacturer
"
Hi Schneil – we don’t have any mounting accessories for racks/panniers. It is designed to fit to a seat post only. It is not to exclude anyone but to ensure the footage it captured from a very stable position on the bike."

This lady had to make an adapter from a U-bend

This product is a nice idea but a poor execution.
The light isn't very bright, the camera quality is poor compared to modern sensors and the battery life is small.

This was all done to keep the cost low and the size small.

So I've used it in anger a few times, so what are my short term initial thoughts?

It's not that small, in fact I would say it is quite bulky.
You really have to pull the straps tight to stop the light moving sideways.

Some of the roads by me aren't great and a bit bumpy, when I got to work the light was sideways on my seat post rather that looking to the rear. I will have to resort to zip ties.

The light is a bit pants to be honest and I would not use it as the only light. However I am comparing this to the lights I normally use a exposure flare.

The camera is ok and does the job for the price, I also like the keep on filming option that it goes over old footage and keeps on recording.

I am happy with the price I paid as a kick starter backer, however I don't think I would pay much more.

If I had to pay the full price I would just buy a dedicated camera that had a loop over feature and pop it on my seat post. And then have a decent light to go with it.

Ah gutted :sad:
I was hoping to replace my cateye 610 rear light and have a rear camera - I was hoping this would tick both boxes. TBH the LEDs did look a bit weedy in the video.
The fact you can't easily mount it on a rack is a real dealbreaker. You'd have thought they'd have considered this for commuters.
Oh well, let's hope they make a v2.

How bright do you need your rear LED's to be for Pete's sake?

If they are looking they will see you. If they aren't they won't; no matter how many lumens light up your 'arris.

Well I'm not sure it's a digital thing.

I'm sure there are people who:
* Never Look
* Quick Glance
* Meandering Glance.
* Eyes like a hawk look.

Bright lights might catch the eye of the Glancers and if they're 60% of car drivers then you're going to benefit, if they're only 3% of car drivers then not much benefit.

I reserve the right to be wrong though.

The rear light on this is 15 lumens! The Knog Strobe, knogs cheapest light (sub £10) and least brightest light is 25 lumens!
The light on this very sub standard and for them to describe it as "Highly visible tail-light" is amusing.
My Dinotte 400R is a highly visible light, 240 lumens!

So they look. Do they see? Having seen do the react? does having a light 10 times brighter than another actually make any difference to seeing and reacting?
