I've put the butler on a four day week, and the Lear Jet may have to go.

I've sold my second yacht and made the crew redundant.

Bought a £10 ladies bike for shopping etc - weekly petrol bill now roughly £3.
  We had a guy at work years ago, we were talking about saving money. He said he's just got a bike, we asked will he use it to get to work...no, he said, the wife can go shopping on it

Thoughtful to a fault !!!

the problem with changing energy supplier is that you have to be careful to note which supplier has already increased prices and which is about to.

For example, you log on to u-switch today and see that your supplier is x amount more expensive than another, so you switch. What you didn't notice is that your original supplier put their prices up last week, and the one you just switched to, is going to put their price up next week, possibly making them more expensive!

as for cut backs, I was skint long before all this credit crunch and then CON-DEM $hit. They can take whatever they like from nothing, makes no difference to me - still have nothing!

...if only you'd mentioned that yesterday.

Why, what happened yesterday?

When you start feeling like that, remember, you have everything relative to >75% of the people in this world.

Have stopped the Mrs doing the weekly food shop at Marks and Sparks so she now goes to Waitrose.

That must save, oooh, 50p a week?

I've been budgetting tightly for years, out of necessity and then habit, so haven't made much change really. I'm not sure how much more I could cut back now.

My shopping is 90% orange and white - Sainsburys Basics range. I cook from scratch mostly, and my meat/fish budget for any meal is usually 50p maximum per person. Plenty of mince, and tinned tuna, and other stuff if it's reduced to clear.

I'm driving less and am much more aware of how much petrol I'm putting in the car. I'm also shopping in Lidl more.

I always buy all my wine when I go to France so no problem with that.
Central heating never higher than
18 degrees but 16 during the night.
