does a carbon post absorb some of the vibration energy from the road ?
I've not really got any idea of the physics. I took a punt based on a one-liner in this review (of my frame) because I was in the process of blingng up the spec of the componentry to something more in keeping with the frame.

Subjectively the old Pro LT metal seat post seemed quite lively, zingly, compared with the carbon one which feels very dead in comparison.

Cannondale Headshock and Lefty suspension, it runs on linear bearings and locks out solidly so much more well engineered than the crude bushings on normal forks.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
The two-bolt bar clamp on the stem, when one of the bolts failed. I've changed to four-bolts ones on all bikes now.
I had that happen too! Fortunately, I had just completed my kamikaze offroad descent, otherwise I might not be here to tell you about it. Half of my stems are now 4-bolters and any future stem purchases will be too.

I had the clamp bolt fail on a seatpost once so I put the saddle in my jersey pocket and rode home standing up. Not as gruelling as it sounds because I was on one of the big hills above Hebden Bridge at the time and was able to freewheel down in less than 10 minutes.

A much more tiring ride back was required when I snapped a crank once. I was 5 miles from home and found 5 miles of right-footed pedalling rather hard work!

Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
My cheapass Aldi Bikemate wired bike computer has surprised me in that it's been going 4 years without fault.
The fact that I've never had a Cateye or Sigma computer last a year has surprised me about how shite they are.

These Photochromic cycling glasses for under £10, I was that impressed ordered a second pair.

Just the case alone is good quality.

Just shows how much we are ripped off at the optician.

Going back 'in time'
